Join the community as it celebrates Veterans Day 2017 and begins a campaign to build a new Veterans Memorial in Mesquite. Enjoy patriotic presentations, free activities and the music of the Dallas Heritage Band that dresses in authentic uniforms and plays period music from the Civil War, World War I, World War II and more. This new event features an old-fashioned barn dance in the restored 1800s barn at the Opal Lawrence Historical Park. The dance includes dance instruction, dancing, live band 3 Chord Rodeo, finger foods, activities, desserts and beverages. Hosted by Historic Mesquite, Inc., the Mesquite Arts Council and the City of Mesquite. Tickets are $20 single/$35 couple. In honor of Veterans Day, all military veterans are $15 single/$30 couple.
